An active pilot since 1971, Tarun Manilal trained in the US on Cessna 150's, 152's and 172's, and holds both US and Indian Airline Transport pilot's licenses. In his long commercial career, he has flown Cessna Citation jets as an executive pilot and as a Senior Captain on Air India's Airbus 310 and the Boeing 747-200, 300 and 400.
Captain Manilal served the airline as the General Manager of the Mumbai airport, Deputy Director of Operations, and Director of Air Safety.
Captain Manilal retired from full-time executive duty in 2007 in order to take over management of the Aerosystem companies from his father, founder Lalit Manilal.
