Aerosystem has been a partner of Cessna Aviation since 1972. Aerosystem commenced operations for inducting general aviation aircraft in 1972 and primarily introduced the first Citation jets to the Indian business aviation market. And worked with the government and authorities of Port Blair to introduce an Amphibious Caravan 208B aircraft.

Aerosystem working with the Aero Club of India introduced the first aerobatic trainer aircraft of modern times to India with the Cessna 152A. There were 35 aeroplanes brought into India and distributed country wide to all the existing flying clubs in 1984-85. Subsequently, in 2005, there was a big push, once again by the Cessna aircraft company to introduce the more modern trainer aircraft the Cessna 172R Skyhawk, equipped with the new generation avionics with the Gramin G1000 glass PFD (primary flight display) and multifunction display.

In the year 2008, Aerosystem was honoured by Cessna Aviation for having sold the maximum number of 172 aircraft worldwide. Further, with the introduction of the new generation 172S Skyhawk aircraft which incorporated the more advanced avionics of the Garmin G1000NXi, Aerosystem brought the state-of-the-art aircraft into India with the various flying schools taking the new models and private owners buying the state-of-the-art Turbo 182 as well.

Capt. Lalit Manilal, a pioneer aviator envisioned a nation which was connected from North to South, East to West and all points in between by general aviation and when in 1972, got the opportunity to work with the Cessna aircraft company of Wichita, Kansas, he started introducing the Citation business jets, the Turboprop Caravan and also the smaller Piston Engine aircraft into India.

Aerosystem and Cessna enjoyed a good business relationship and Cessna established a premier position in the field of flying trainer. In continuation of providing the basic trainer aircraft, there was a great need for support and providing technical assistance and spare parts to keep all the aircraft flying and the subsidiary organisation, Aerospares was the way that this was done.

Today, Aerosystem continues to be a Channel Partner with Textron Aviation Inc, the parent company of Cessna and Beechcraft, piston engine models in India exclusively. Aerospares continues to be Aerosystem’s arm for providing warranty support and spare parts and technical assistance to all Cessna customers in India.
