One of the great pioneers in Indian aviation, Lalit Mohan Manilal graduated from Royal Chelsea Aeronautical College in London in 1938. He spent much of his early career flying for Indian National Airways, ultimately serving as a trainer for senior pilots.

Capt. Lalit Manilal was a key influencer in the nationalization of the Indian aviation industry during the early 1950's, leading efforts to integrate many small airlines into a single, streamlined organization. Post-nationalization, Capt. Lalit Manilal held multiple senior positions in the Indian Airlines Corporation.

Capt. Lalit Manilal retired from aviation administration in 1968 and launched the Aerosystem Companies in 1972. He brought the first Cessna Citation jets ever to fly over India, as well as many other state- of-the-art aircraft that were instrumental in modernizing pilot training.

A founding member of the Aeronautical Society of India, Lalit Mohan Manilal brought true passion for flight to every aspect of his long and rich career. His commitment and vision helped shape the aviation industry that we know today.
